Taylors of Harrogate Tea Reviews

Taylors of Harrogate is a high end tea company whose most famous blend is Yorkshire Tea.  It was started by tea and coffee distributor Charles Taylor in 1886.  Taylors of Harrogate takes great pride in the fact that they have been family owned ever since its inception, though they do not specify which family owns them.  Their locally owned credentials would be challenged, for example, if they were family owned by the Rockefellers or the Hiltons.  No matter.

Charles Taylor of Harrogate fame was the first teasan to realize that the quality of the water was just as important as the quality of the tea used.  According to Mr. Taylor, calcium carbonate in water can interact with tea to create "scum."  Who would have known?

Finally, Taylors of Harrogate tea pride themselves in their standards.  Every tea brand will tell you that they have the finest, hand picked, highest quality tea, blah blah yada yada yawn.  But, Taylors of Harrogate adds some backing to this ubiquitous statement: they have tea experts (what Tea Amigos calls teasans) roam the world tasting hundreds of teas.  To join the ranks of these master tea buyers, one must have 5 years of experience.  Considering both Dax and Mike were born with a tea IV, we should apply for this job.

Taylors of Harrogate Mango Black Tea

Dax: Now this is good mango flavored tea.  Lately the TeaAmigos have been steeping a lot of mango black tea like those from Orient Organics and Trader Joe's, and Taylor's of Harrogate comes...(Read more)

Talyors of Harrogate English Breakfast Tea

Mike: Taylors of harrogate English Breakfast Tea is a genre defining black tea. Of the breakfast teas I have evaluated thus far, this Taylors of Harrogate Tea is the supreme leader. It is the Ayatollah Khomeini of Breakfast Tea. Sure, there are some worthy second in commands, Ahmadinejads if you will, such as Numi Chinese Breakfast. What...(Read more)

Taylors of Harrogate Lemon and Orange Tea

Mike: This is the third Taylors of Harrogate tea review. Here at TeaAmigos, we have a rule that once a tea brand has accumulated three tea reviews, we create a page for it. Taylors of Harrogate, it's your turn to face TeaAmigo's wrath. Taylors of Harrogate Lemon and Orange tea is a tea I imagine a nun...(Read more)

Taylors of Harrogate Raspberry and Vanilla Tea

Dax: Taylors of Harrogate tea brings forth a seemingly inocent brew. Their Raspberry and Vanilla tea is a berry induction to the steep of the day. I'm not a fan of citrusy teas too much due to their long-lasting tang film left in your mouth...(Read more)

Taylors of Harrogate Delicate Green Tea

Mike: Taylors of Harrogate tea brings forth a seemingly inocent brew. Taylors of Harrogate tea was an unintentional parting gift from a wedding.  A good guy, TeaAmigos was on his mind.  So in this gift bag came a Delicate Green tea which is a powerful chariot and steed. A mouthful of intensity overwhelmed me and changed my tea standards...(Read more)

Taylors of Harrogate Earl Grey Tea

Mike: Taylors of Harrogate Earl Grey is a shorty fire burning on the dance floor as far as I'm concerned. This earl grey packs the Hiroshima punch of flavor and the Nagasaki burst...(Read more)

Taylors of Harrogate English Breakfast Tea

Mike: Dax came across this rare blend, the Taylor's of Harrogate English Breakfast, which signalled that I must immediately snap into teasan mode. One teabag was available so I instantly knew that the steep-n-share was in effect. Poured me a cup and I knew what was up. Taylors of Harrogate tea rarely if every dissappoints, but you got to be willing to drop the big bucks to enjoy this platinum level steep. This English Breakfast tea pack punches...(Read more)
