Aftelier Monkey Picked Ti Quan Yin Oolong with Fresh Ginger & Turkish Rose - A Rose By Any Other Name..

Aftelier Perfume TeaMike: Everyone knows monkeys pick the best things. Are bananas not awesome? Was the princess Donkey/King Kong kidnapped not hot? Did Abu not have a fly hat? You know primates have great taste, so why wouldn't you drink some Monkey Picked Ti Quan Yin Oolong with Fresh Ginger and Turkish Rose? Phew, what a mouthful but what you should do is fill your mouth full of this Oolong tea from Aftelier Perfumed Teas because there's so much going on. Ti Quan Yin tea, Ginger tea, Turkish Rose tea, all complement each other seamlessly. Quit monkeying around and pull some Aftelier off a tree.

Dax: What picture comes to your mind when I mention Monkey Picked Ti Quan Yin Oolong with Fresh Ginger and Turkish Rose? Either a monkey with a basket of tea, or nothing. The former can't escape my head, but man is this tea excellent! You get a hearty oolong tea taste with a flowery finish. Not to mention the ginger tea that strolls in casually throughout the sip. Not too strong either. Another banger from Aftelier Perfumes, I'm gonna have to have this on hand at all times, best tea yet again.

Twining's Herbal Revive Tea - Fizzle In, Fizzle Out

Mike: Twinings Herbal Revive is the quintessential daily drinker, an inexpensive tea you can consume on a daily basis and not get sick of. The flavor is pleasant but not popping, steepability is average, balance is solid. Everything about this Twinings tea screams "Drink me! I'm marginally above average!"
Regardless , the ginger tea and lemon combo is pleasureable no matter how you put it. Buy this lemon tea in bulk because it's what you'll be drinking for your daily grind.

Rating: B

Dax: Twinings Herbal Revive had me excited when I steeped it, as it plop plop fizz fizzed right when the bag hit my perfectly heated teacup/water combo. Efferdent in the mix? I've had braces, but no dentures here. Twinings knows what they are doing, and their lemon ginger tea fared well. Although in my mind it was standard, Herbal Revive did make other teas in similar genres look stupid. Twining's of London took Chinese ginger to the regular level. Check it out if you dare not venture into supreme flavor country.

Mighty Leaf Ginger Twist - A Spicy Boot To The Shorts

Mighty Leaf Ginger TwistDax: Mighty Leaf Ginger tea is a reality check ginger tea.  some herbal teas like to use artificial flavorings, and clearly Mighty Leaf would never do such a thing.  Artificially flavored ginger tea has an odd sweetness to it.  Some teas, like the Octavia Ginger Tea, got the sweetness locked down naturally; this is a rare occurrence. This Mighty Leaf tea has the true ginger poppin, as the opening taster is smooth like their exquisite line of teas are supposed to be, with a spicy kick in the pants on the way out.  Not too spicy, now, but just right.  It's amazing and true, Mighty Leaf is a guaranteed winner.  Oh yea, and a half of a point deduction for that semi-chamomile feeling I got in the after-aftertaste.

Mike: Mighty Leaf Ginger Twist is the kind of ginger tea little boys and girls dream of becoming when they grow up, right along with fireman, astronaut, and professional athelete. I'm sorry, I am now receiving word from our sources on the ground that Mighty Leaf Ginger Twist is the kind of ginger tea little boys and girls dream of DRINKING when they grow up. We apologize for this mistake and the correction will be made on the transcript. Anyway, if you're looking for a Mighty Leaf ginger tea popping with flavor, a nice citrusy lemongrasset (an asset made of lemongrass), strong fruit vibes, and a hint of mint then this Mighty Leaf tea is for you.

Octavia Ginger Peach White Tea - The Return of the Mack

Octavia Ginger Peach TeaDax: Octavia ginger peach white tea was such a blessing. Octavia tea is clearly a winner in the loose tea genre, and they've proven their prowess with ginger tea as well. Ginger tea sometimes tastes ways too Traditionals Medicinals for me, like my grandma made it to cure cancer or something. This ginger white tea had the perfect blend of ginger and peach. The best part was this sweet aftertaste that is lke the gatorade at the end of a 400K marathon. Definitely a best tea nominee fo shizzle.

Rating: A+

Mike: Octavia Ginger Peach White Tea has the flavor pop necessary to proudly strut with or without music in the background, and I'm not talking about Dax's tea beats here. I'm talking about some 70's groove track, like Goldie from The Mack. When this Octavia tea opens the door to his chambers the other teas look down. A sweet white tea slaps your taste buds across the face if they talk out of turn and a nice ginger spiciness then comforts them. Cry on the ginger's shoulder. It'll be you father, lover, advisor, protector, and boss. This ginger tea has them tastebuds on lockdown.

Revolution Sweet Ginger Peach Tea - Off the Wall Peachiness

Revolution Peach Ginger TeaMike: Revolution Tea is coming straight at you with another quality steep. This time is the Revolution Sweet Ginger Peach Tea. This fruit tea doesn't fizzle like most because there is no clear divide between the fruit and the tea. What I mean is that this tea from Revolution tastes like peach tea, not like peach flavored tea. Know what I mean? Hard to describe but let's just say the peach ginger goodness is an intrinsic part of this one. Somewhat sweet but with no added sugar, you should definitely add this one to your tea collection. Give it a steep and tell us what you think.

Rating: A-

Dax: Revolution ginger peach tea really didn't do much for me despite the quality brand name. It is understandable and I'm never going to hold that against Revolution tea. In this case, the ginger was artificial tasting and the peach was subtle, yet finely tuned. I don't know ladies and gents, this ginger tea with peach just did not have me geeked on it at all. Not bad, but not great.

Tazo Green Ginger Tea - Reluctantly Relenquished

Tazo Green Ginger TeaMike: Tazo Green Ginger tea is an interesting blend of two types of tea that one might not expect to complement each other but they do. At its heart, this flavored green tea from Tazo tea is a champion in the making but it still lacks the necessary umph to wield the Hammer of Prolific Destiny+3. The taste is slightly duller than one would hope which leads me to believe that this ginger green tea was not the freshest of brews. Nevertheless, this one is definitely worth you time and effort as it exceeds daily drinker quality in my book. Listen up and learn from the gifted teasan.

Rating: A-

Dax: Tazo Green Ginger tea has more bark then bite.  After having a ginger tea from medicinal brands like Traditional Medicinals, one would worry about getting that burning feeling in your throat.  Ginger is one hell of an herb, one swallow down the wrong tube and you are on the ground having a seizure, if not dead.  Tazo tea tames that ginger beast by integrating a nicely brewed green tea in the mix.  The aroma is quite gingery, yet the color and taste resemble a green and white tea fusion.  This is an interesting blend to say the least, as the ginger tea flavor is only present in the front end taste, while the back end is filled with a smooth, delicate green tea.  If you are on an extra health kick and need to ween yourself into the world of ginger, try this brew.
